Shameless Self Promotion: Internship with Paul Loebach
This fall I was fortunate enough to intern for a super talented furniture designer, Paul Loebach. Paul is a talented and knowledgeable guy, as well as being just a great dude. Be sure to check out his site at Paul Loebach
Also keep an eye out in magazines such as Wallpaper and Surface, cause they feature his work from time to time, and it is the hotness.

Shameless Self Promotion: 'That's Not a Chair'

I designed the "Stoop Chair" in the summer of last year. The idea behind the chair was to design a piece that is completely open for user interpretation, and whose function is determined by the context in which it is in. I enjoy factoring humor and wit into design, as I feel a stronger attachment to products that make me smile. I personally see the "Stoop Chair" as a chair simply because I enjoy sitting on steps. Some people may see it as a commentary on suburban housing, or as a play on the phrase "porch furniture," or simply as a fun bench to sit around with your friends on. Most won't even see it as a chair at all. The chair is designed to be made from roto-molded polyethylene which allows for a wide range of colors, and even a marblized effect, though the prototype is made from insulation foam covered in fiberglass. Thanks me (John Dixon)
