Cripy and Classy...chain oil?

I love bikes, they are what I am all about, but strange as it is, I literally never lubricate the chains on any of my bikes. This chain oil packaging is pretty nice though. I think if I had some I would be convinced to use it just to feel classy. Thanks Selectism.

Shameless Self Promotion: I'm now making narrow bars...if you're into that sort of thing

I now have a form set up to churn out some pretty narrow bars in addition to the wide ones.

This view shows the shape of the bars a little better. The Big bars are 24 inches wide with 16 degrees of sweep and 5 inch straight section in the middle. The Small bars are 16 wide, with 12 degrees of sweep and a 3 inch section in the middle

Shameless Self Promotion: Wooden Bike Parts

I met this designer, Karl Zahn, while I was out in New York, and he happened to make wooden handlebars for his bicycle. Well it inspired me, so when I got back to Cincinnati I decided to make some wooden bike parts. So far I have made most of a fender and a pair of bars, but I have now got the jigs and tools to turn them both out relatively fast...I am psyched.

Check my progress on my Flickr page.

I love bikes: Why can't I own some of these sweet old fashioned ones?

Check out this video of insane bike designs from the 40's. I especially love the one where the top and down tubes are made of what look like springs. It is honestly probably harder to ride that thing with two wheels on the ground than just one.

Thanks Gizmodo

Cincinnati Stepping It's Bike Friendly Game Up?

So apparently Cincinnati has decided to build a bike shop/lockers/shower facility on the riverfront, to accomodate bike commuters. This is awesome news and proves that my senior project was actually worth while...haha.

Read more about it in THIS ARTICLE

Just let the people ride their bikes

Having ridden BMX for quite some time now, I have had my fair share of stupid run-ins with cops, but this is straight up ridiculous. This happened at this month's Critical Mass in New York, and as far as anyone knows the bike rider did nothing to even deserve a verbal scolding, let alone this. People need to understand that bike riding is a good thing, and stop giving bike riders so much trouble.

Specialized makes some pretty good looking bikes from time to time

I'm not usually into complete bikes, but there is no denying that the Specialized Langster- Seattle is a good looking bicycle. I love the green rims and the wood fenders. The sweep bars are just icing the on the cake...classy.

Shameless Self Promotion: I like to shoot photos of bike riding

I have been into shooting photos since early in high school, and I have been shooting photos of bike riding for about 3 years now. You should check out my Flickr page, even though it hasn't been updated in forever.
