I am about 4 years two late on this, but Jess Stephens had a pretty cool thing goin' with "Knit for Peace." Essentially a bunch of people from around the world knit guns to speak out against firearms. Knit objects are funny looking, and guns are bad, so I dig. Read more about it at "Knit for Peace"

This would also make for a nice gun cover. I wouldn't want my gun rubbing up against my ipod and my cell phone in my purse!
